About The Scrappy Camper
Hey y’all. I am Amy Cook @ The Scrappy Camper. I’ve been sewing and quilting for more years than I’m willing to admit. I was blessed to have an amazing grandmother who taught me to sew when I was very young. It was one of the greatest gifts she ever gave me, and I hope I can use some of her lessons to contribute to the quilting community. I grew up in rural Mississippi but married a soldier when I was only 19 years old. We spent the next 30 years traveling the globe, having two awesome girls and just generally having a wonderful time before settling down in the great state of Texas. Now I spend most of my time designing quilt patterns, making quilts and thinking about making quilts. Oh, and doing whatever my bosses tell me to do.

Mission Statement
I aim to create quilts that are scrappy in nature with a modern aesthetic. I will use color boldly and unapologetically, layering patterns to create added visual appeal while showing traditional motifs in a new light. Using whatever materials are at hand, I will honor the quilting tradition of telling my life’s story in fabric and thread, because quilts – like life itself – should be made up of many hues, many textures, a few mistakes, and a whole lot of warmth, love and grace.
